Your first Peaks visit!

Visiting Sheffield’s iconic Peak District before someone questions your loyalty to God’s Own Country!

You’re a Sheffield student now, and the Peaks are right on your doorstop. Before anyone says ‘you haven’t been to the Peak District yet?!’ — do this. It’s a great ‘lil walk to do with new course-mates or friends, super cheap and super easy.

  1. Get the 51 bus out all the way to the end and alight at Lodge Moor – it’s just £1 for students! There are stops in Broomhill, on Fulham Road, and on Manchester Road (the road above Ranmoor).
  2. Walk down Redmires Road from the bus stop.
  3. Exit the road, and go down a path to the right
  4. Start exploring! You’ve arrived at Wyming Brook Nature Reserve. There are loads of paths and you can walk for as long or as little as you like – there are beautiful little stepping stones across the brook and fantastic views and you can easily walk around the reservoirs for a round route.

My flatmates and I had a wonderful day out in October. We’d thoroughly recommend it to fellow students – whether you’re a fresher or not!
