About
As the Sheffield Orthoplastics Society, we aim to increase medical students’ exposure to the competitive fields of Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery. Founded in 2016, we are an emerging society that aims to provide:
- Orthopaedic and Plastic Skills Workshops, eg advanced suturing techniques and fracture fixation
- OSCE Revision Sessions Specific to Musculoskeletal Examinations
- Regular Talks and Events
- Conference Trips and Presentation Opportunities
- Opportunities to Shadow Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgeons
- Opportunities to Get Involved in Research
We are also looking to hold our inaugural conference in 2020, with talks by experienced Orthopaedic and Plastic surgeons, present research or posters, and have a go at some hands-on workshops involving techniques used in Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery.
