What I wish I knew in first year: For many students, first year is as much about learning how to be an adult as it is about learning medicine. So don’t neglect the importance of socialising, keeping fit, budgeting your student loan, learning how to cook and looking after yourself

Favourite speciality: Emergency Medicine (I’m biased!)

Favourite revision spot: Literally wherever is quiet and where you can concentrate!

Peaks or West Street?: Definitely the Peak District. It’s so easy to catch a bus out into the countryside to have a break from your work when you need it.
