What I wish I knew in first year: Take it easy! I remember how overwhelming everything felt at the start, like I was constantly trying to keep up and expected to understand it all straight away. But the truth is, no one does. Medicine is a really challenging course, and it’s okay to feel out of your depth sometimes. I’d remind myself to slow down, pace myself, and not be so hard on myself. You grow into it more than you realise
